1200: The need for food is a continuing problem, and is still exacerbating tensions in the IDP camp as citizens suspect that existing supplies are being distributed inequitably. It appears that rebel groups have control of the largest food stores. The Crisis Mapping Team has identified usable access routes and distribution points for food supplies. Representatives from our team are available to advise any organization with supplies; contact maha.mian@tufts.edu. Citizen reports also indicate that there is distrust of UN and other NGO workers. The UN had established a Work for Food program, but due to demand is having difficulty providing workers with compensation. 1130: Food and water are still in very high demand. NGOs with access to supplies, contact a representative from our team at maha.mian@tufts.edu to coordinate distribution. Our contacts in the field report that tension is continuing between Tumbili and Bandari in the IPD camp and is being exacerbated by the continuing food shortage. The Crisis Mapping Team will soon have access to a large number of reports directly from displaced citizens, and will work to confirm and organize this data so that we can advise aid distribution efforts according to type and magnitude of need. The number of people in IDP camps is growing quickly. We have received reports that tension is developing within the camps between Tumbili and Bandari factions, largely due to a food shortage. At this time, we believe that violence in the camps is minimal, but there seems to be distrust of military and non-military organizations. 1030: The Crisis Mapping Team is working to create a channel through which IDPs and victims of violence can communicate their need for resources. Information will be collected primarily through text messages: all requests for aid should be sent to +16176826346 with the location indicated as specifically as possible. At this time, we believe that there is continuing violence in Comoostros, but NGOs have already begun to establish relief operations for displaced persons.

1000: The Crisis Mapping team has recently established contact with several individuals in IDP camps near Coosmotros. We are still trying to gather information about the scale and severity of the incident, but we believe that there may be continuing violence and civil unrest in Coosmotros. We are working now to develop our communications base with the effected population so that we can monitor human rights violations, as well as needs for water, food, shelter, and medical aid.
